About Us

Miđnćtur (Icelandic for Midnight) kennel is located in Reykjavík, Iceland.
We are a tiny kennel of only 4 Siberians, so far.

Our Siberians are family members, first and foremost, anything else is a bonus.

Our aim is to breed for the betterment of the Siberian Husky; healthy, quality, sound, graceful and stunning dogs that conform to the breed standard and have outstanding temperaments. We will do so by using dogs which also meet that standard of which are clear from any hereditary defects and display amicable temperaments.

We will breed only for ourselves when the need arises, working alongside like a minded breeder. For that reason you will see very few litters advertiesed.

On this page you will find information about our dogs and the breed ingeneral, upcoming litters and latest news.

Fell free to look around and drop by again.
Oh, and don't forget to leave your mark in the guestbook.

On behalf of Miđnćtur Kennel,

Stefán, Róbert
&
Ólöf

Stefán and Róbert are the breeders of Miđnćtur Kennel.

Stefán has always had an affection for dogs but didn’t get one until late 2005.

Early 2004 he became really interested in the breed Siberian Husky and later that year he contacted a lovely woman named Sandra Baker (Giesen at the time), the owner of Anyka Kennels, Australia. In December 2005, Stefán finally got his first dog, ISCH Anyka Bootylicious Babe (Kíra). In 2007 Kíra was miss-diagnosed with cataract, which came as quite a shock for us all. But in 2008 we got it final, she does not have inherited cataract.

In the mean time Stefán decided to import another Siberian, this time from Sweden.
He contacted the owners of Bedarra kennel (Marjut & Jouni) and got Bedarra Bambolina Bebe (Maya) from them in March 2008.
At the same time, he applied for his kennel name Miðnætur which was registered by FCI on the 11th of December 2007.

In March 2009, Stefán imported a very special guest from Kennel Ciucki, Mallorca, Spain to Iceland, AM/IS CH Karnovanda's Alexander Wolf (Alex), which should be mated with Kíra. 6 puppies were born on the 11th of August 2009, Miðnætur's first litter (The Greek Gods). Stefán is the co-owner of two puppies from that litter, Eros and Luna.

Róbert has also always had an affection for dogs.

He first fell in love with Siberian Huskies in 2005 when an old friend of his bought one from Hulduheims Kennel.

Róbert and Stefán met early 2008 and Róbert was really lucky that Stefán owned his favorite breed.

Róbert got his first Siberian in 2009, Miðnætur Steaming Hot Aphrodite (Luna). She's from Miðnætur's first litter, the Greek Gods.
Róbert is also the co-owner of Maya.

Ever since Ólöf was young she has had a lot of interest in animals but she didn't get her first pet until she was around 11 years old. It was a mixed bred dog called Bangsi. He did not stay with the family for long because he died from an unknown sickness at the age of three.

Since then Ólöf has had a few small pets, such as rabbits and a guinea pig, but ever since Bangsi died she had been wanting another dog.

In mid-2006 Ólöf became interested in Siberian Huskies and as she got to know the breed better through books and friend's Huskies she got even more in love with the breed and hasn't stopped loving them ever since!

In 2008 her mother got the guide dog, Asita, a black Labrador from Norway. Asita fitted into the family very well and got more life into the family. But because of limitations with what the family is allowed to do with Asita, Ólöf couldn't wait to get her own dog.

On the 11th of August 2009, Miđnćtur's first pup was born, Miðnætur Erotic Eros (Eros). Ólöf took a great liking to the pup and 8 weeks later he was hers! Eros has brought laughter to the home and every single familymember believes he's not a dog but a cat in disguise as one!
