Early 2004 I became really interested in Siberian Huskies and later that year I contacted a lovely woman named Sandra Baker (Giesen at the time), the owner of Anyka Kennels, Australia.
In December 2005 I finally got my first dog, MBVIS ISVW-13 C.I.B. ISCH Anyka Bootylicious Babe (Kira).
In 2007 Kira was misdiagnosed with cataract, which came as quite a shock for us all. But in 2008 we got it final, what was thought to be cataract was only a small patch of pigment in her right eye.
In the mean time I decided to import another Siberian, this time from Sweden.
I contacted the owners of Bedarra kennel (Marjut & Jouni) and got Bedarra Bambolina Bebe (Maya) from them in March 2008.
At the same time, I applied for my prefix Miðnætur which was registered by the FCI on the December 11th 2007.
In March 2009, I imported a very special guest from Kennel Ciucki in Mallorca, Spain, to Iceland, ISCH AMCH Karnovanda's Alexander Wolf (Alex), which was mated with Kira. 6 puppies were born on August 11th 2009, The Greek Gods, Miðnætur Siberians' first litter.
That litter produced the very first Icelandic bred Siberian Husky to win Best In Show, BIS Miðnætur Dawn Of Eos (Ninja), and the youngest Icelandic bred Siberian Husky female (at that time) to become an Icelandic Champion, ISCH Miðnætur Hunting Artemis. From that litter we also have BPIS C.I.B. ISCH Miðnætur Colourful Iris (Askja) and HCH HJCH Miðnætur Steaming Hot Aphrodite (Luna).
In September 2010, I imported MBIS RBISS ISCH HCH B-Casper Jr. of Doghouse Farm (Casper) from Eva Varga at Big Foot-Print's Siberians, Hungary, as a special guest.
He was the first Siberian Husky to ever win Best In Show at a dog show in Iceland, and he did it TWICE!
Casper was mated with our lovely Maya. On March 27th 2011 Maya had 5 puppies (1 was stillborn), 1 boy and 4 girls (the Cats litter).
That litter produced the youngest Siberian Husky, at that time, to become an Icelandic Champion, BIS C.I.B. ISCH RW-13 Miðnætur Rum Tum Tugger (Bylur) and BBIS RW-13 Miðnætur Glamorouz Grizabella (Amyra). Stefán is the co-owner of Amyra.
Casper was also mated with Kira and on the 24th of September she had 5 lovely puppies, 3 boys and 2 girls (the AC/DC litter). From that litter we got our first export, Miðnætur Kissin' Dynamite (Dyna), she lives with her owner Mariann Bitter in Hungary. That litter also produced BBIS Miðnætur Thunderstruck (Thunder), who is a top sled dog at Dogsledding Iceland, and BPIS ISCH Miðnætur Bad Boy Boogie (Aramiz) who is well on the way to become and Icelandic Champion.
In March 2012, we added our very own boy to the family, ISCH NLM Canyonlands Sundance Kid (Sunny), from Katrina Fisher at Canyonlands Siberians, Australia.
Sunny is a great addition to our pack and has an amazing pedigree. We sure have high hopes for him and he will certainly have a great influence on our breeding program.
His first litter at Miðnætur Siberians was born on the 18th of March 2014, 4 boys and 2 girls (the Tina Turner litter). The dam of the puppies is the stunning BBIS RW-13 Miðnætur Glamorouz Grizabella (Amyra). From that litter we got our third export, MBPIS RUJrCH Miðnætur Whatever You Need (Jack), he lives with his owner Natalia Tarasenko, Antarana Siberians, in Russia. We kept a girl from that litter, ISCH Miðnætur Dancing In My Dreams (Rio), and we sure have high hopes for her in the future.
We had another litter in March 2014, born on the 15th (the Les Misérables litter). That litter is out of our sweet girl Maya and a Canadian import, MBPIS C.I.B. ISCH CANCH Wolfriver's Ice Thunder Kanuck. We also got 4 boys and 2 girls in that litter. From that litter we got our second export, Miðnætur A Little Fall Of Rain (Luna), she lives with her owner Johanna Marta Johannsdottir in Norway. That litter also produced BBIS Miðnætur One Day More (Púki). We kept a girl, Miðnætur A Heart Full Of Love (Píla), and co-own a boy, Miðnætur Master Of The House (Dio).
